Do you have ever meeting a challenge by yourself for your company? I have ever met this kind of job, full of pains. I was assigned to be a field engineer to help job site to solve construction problems. I felt that I might not be able to handle it by myself, I though I was not qualified. Finally, I overcame all the problems. It was unforgettable experience to be a field engineer.
I quit the job where I have worked there for five years. It was a small company for only ten employees working there. When I left there, my position was manager of engineering department. This title helped my more early to apply for new job. It was half month I made a successful interview and transferred to CTCI instrumentation department, starting my new career. CTCI is a largest engineering company in aiwan; it has many branches overseas. The training courses were provided for new employees for one month. I attended the classes with my colleague who came to CTCT after me; she worked for PVDC project with me. The project was leading by a very kind of senior engineer; he was never being a team leader so it was his first project.
PVDC project was a joint venture by China and Japan’s owner; the plant was located in China. CTCI provided engineering documents and construction work. Although this project was a small project compare to the other, I was still facing many challenges such design drawing as it was new for me; many new materials I didn’t know too. At that time, I didn’t aware that many problems would be happened at job site. One year after, the design work stage was nearly closed, but field engineer was been selected to go to jog site. When I was received the announcement about going to China, my second son was born at Far Easter hospital. I stayed with my son only tree days. I left for China to be field engineer.
Overcome problems were the first priority at job site but it is difficult for me to deal with. Although I was experience engineer, the problems were almost different from that I have ever met. When I was in China, I needed to work overtime every day including Saturday and Sunday for three months. One day I sent a discourage e-mail to my leader mentioned some things which were disappointed me. Sooner or later, I received an e-mail from my big boss saying that he was on the way to my job site.
If you get many pains on your work, you get so many gains also. Most people always expect having less challenge job or less responsibility on their work. What kind of work is really benefit for you? While I received a mission, difficult to be solved, I will do my effort on it because I got I chance to learn. Field engineer task let me learn many things. I hope I can have more chance to be at sit.
