Friends

I make some of good friends in Lungwha. Before I come to
Lungwha university of science and technology, my life is
very simple. Go to work and come back, is my all life.
I always give my time for someone else. For
example, I give all of my time to my boss and family.
If I feel sad and unhappy or excited , I feel like to share with
someone else. It is diffcult because I only have a few frends.
But now I joint to a big family, Lungwah uiniversity of
science and technology. I feel I have a lot of friends.
We can study English together and make a lot of fun.

Moon

The moon is wonderful and full of magic. Sometimes it is big like
plate. Sometimes it is small like a banana. And then sometimes
we can''t see it at all. Actully, the moon is always the same.
When you look carefully, you can see that some parts of the
moon are dark. And other parts are light. Where there are
mountains the moon looks bright. When the moon looks fully
round. We say: it is a full moon. When we can not see it at all,
we asy: it is a new moon. From new moon to new moon it
usually takes about 28days. Farmers, fishermen, and people
who worship the gods, look at the lunar calendar. The lunar
month is important for them to know the best time to plant.
But in the modren sociaty, we don't use lunar callendar.

Feet

Every one has feet. Some have feet for running, some have
feet for holding things, or climbing trees. But all animals have
four feet. It is only people who have two feet and can stand up
straight. The zebra have feet and hoofs, like shoes. Because
the grass fields may be hard with many rocks. So the hoofs allow
zebra to run quickly and safely for a long time. The panda also
has claws, which help it climb trees and hold on to the leaves.
The elephant is the biggest walking animal in the world, so its
feet must be strong and heavy to carry its big body.
People use feet not only for walk but also for health and art.
Jogging is most kind of exercise for keeping health. The dancer
have feet to dance and performance. I hope every
one have a healthy feet.

Strawberries

I love ripe strawberry. In Taiwan, now is the right season of
the strawberry picking. In the middle of Taiwan, there are many
strawberry fields . Today, pople like to pick strawberry by
themself in the fields. This kind activate is suitable for
family or senior people. Kits will be excited to pick strawberry
in the field. But sometimes they will hurt the strawberry, it is
because the strawberry is soft. When you buy strawberries
that you need to wash them carefully. You also need to clean
them many time. You had better to eat them as soon as
possible. I love strawberry because it is sweat and taste good.

Sumo wresters

Sumo wrestlers have to work hard every day. Sumo is a
kind of Japaness traditional game. The game is that two
people have to push their opponent out of the ring. It is a
quick match, so one has to be very smart and skillful to win.
Sometimes a smaller sumo wrestler with better skills
can beat a bigger one. They often live together and have a
disciplined life. They get up at five am to train with each other.
They have to run, push, jump, and play with each other.
They push against the pillars and stretch their legs.
Sometimes one has to play against five others.
It makes them strong and not scared. If you want to be a
sumo wrestlers, you should have a strong body.

There are many advantages of being bilingual in the modern society.

The Globalization is a very common in the modern
society around the world.For example, one car may
be assembled in Japan, but the auto parts may come
from Taiwan, Thailand, or China. People need to
travel to different country to deal any problem
with your sub-suppler or your customers.
The bilingual skill can help you easy to solve the
problems, express correct information to each other,
and avoid any misunderstanding between one and another.
To travel the world is very popular in the modern
society. For example, my parents only traveled
in domestic during their honeymoon, but today,
traveling to the world is very common for honeymoon
vocation. People got more chances to meet different
nations in the modern society.The bilingual skill
can help you buying things, asking direction,
and finding correct information in foreign country.
All in all, being a bilingual is important
for everyone who lives in the modern society.

Commencement address by Steve Jobs

The three stories addressed by Steve Jobs in commencement of Stanford University. The first story is talking about a child who was adopted at birth. His biological mother left him strongly. His parents adopted him and promised to let him to go to college. “You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.” Steve Jobs said. When he grew up. He dropped out the Reed College, stopped spending his parents savings, and drop in only one class “typography”. The dots are very important in Steve Jobs life. He said,” when you look backward ten years later, you can see the truth.” Have you ever done some things for future following your gut, destiny, whatever? The second story is about lost and his love. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. He got fired from the Apple that he started. He was totally defeated and didn’t know how to do in the further, but he still loves what he did. Don't lose faith. Steve Jobs started his two successful company named NeXT and Pixar. Finally, he returns to apple again. The third story is about death. A doctor told him that he is nearly to die. It seems every thing in the end. After the surgery, he is fine now. “If today were the last day of your life, would you want to do what you are about to do today?” Steve Jobs said. It is true that you never know when you will die. When he make the big choices in his life. The question will be in his mind to remind him to do right thing. "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." I hope that I have always wished that for myself.

My resolution in 2010

To meet a challenge of TOEIC test is my resolution for next year. Now I am studying in Lunghwa University of Science and Technology. My major is Applied of Foreign Languages.My company requests all of employees to get a high score of TOEIC, so I study English hard in order to get a good grade of TOEIC. Therefore, my resolution for next year is to get 600 scores of TOEIC.

First, I should improve my English grammar. English grammar is usually difficult to for foreigners who wants to learn the foreign language. I will pay more time and find a useful way to study English grammar. For example, I will try to finish all of the practices of English grammar book, pay more attention to the English grammar class, and try some TOEIC past exam papers. Second, I also want to improve my English listening skill. Watching movies, listening English materials, and attending to English conversation class are good ways to improve my English listening skill. So I plan to see a movie every month, listen to English materials every day, and study hardly in English conversation class. Finally, I will go to TOEIC test in the middle of 2010.

My Classmate Irene

Studying English in forty weeks in Australia, it is quit a long time for a young lady staying in foreign countries. My classmate, Irene, who has a dream for one day can be an English teacher. So, she decided to study English abroad in Australia. Living in Australia is difficult for most students because many things are so expansive, for example, food, transportation, and rent will cost much money from you. She spent all of her saving in the year while she stayed in Australia. She lived in homestay in first half year, and then she moved out to the dormitory in next half year. Living in homestay can help you easy to fit in to the Australia. For example, the homestay owner can help you to open your bank account, show you round the city, and prepare the food for you. They can solve your problem and give you advice, but the rent will be higher then the dormitory. After she came back to Taiwan, she became an English teacher. Now she is working in Hess. My Classmate-Katie

She is a kind of person who is full of adventure, sense of art, and a nature of language learner. Few years ago, she went to Japan to study Japanese. The first half year, she studied in language school and than studied in Tokyo Design School for next two and half years. Although she is an independent and smart girl, but studying abroad is a big challenge to her because she didn’t know any Japanese words before she got here. In the beginning, she couldn’t read newspaper, no body could be talked, even didn’t know how to get on the bus. The problems are not just like this at all. The money is the second issue. She worked and studied while she stayed in Japan, but living in Japan is difficult for student when the student do not have enough money to live on. The food, transportation, and living place will cost you much money unless you are rich or you can stay in hunger. Strong passion on her mind makes her kept going on until graduated from school. “No pain, no gain”, she did a good job only used half year in language school. Next, she finished Tokyo Design School class and got Japanese certification level two before she came back. I envy what she did because that was my dream to study or to do some things that I really want to do for myself. The destiny, family, sibling, and environment all of thins will let you do thing for someone else’s wanted. I enjoy her story every time when she told me. Now she decided to study English in Lunghwa University that is a big challenge to her. However, she is a fast language leaner, so it is not a big deal for Katie. Two years later, you will know why I said that.

Rasing a Kid

Kids are most lovely animal, but sometimes they are difficult. When they are small, parents take care all their needs, feed them and clothe them. Sometimes parents find babysitter for taking care of their children. If you find wrong person to look after you kid, so your kid may be hurt by purpose or non-purpose. In the modern society, raising a kind would be very high cost. Therefore, the most family prefers to have one kid not more then two. They think that they don’t have enough money to support their kid. Now I have two kid, oldest one five years old, and younger one four years old. Both of them are boys with full of energy. I hope that I can give them good health and good education.

Sumo Wrestlers

Sumo wrestler is a kind of career in Japan. One of the sumo wrestlers is as heavy as ten little boys and girls. Their hand and food are big and strong. Although sumo wrestlers all look so big and heavy, they have to be skillful to win. Sometimes a smaller sumo wrestler with better skills can beat a bigger one. They train every day and make their muscles big. Sumo wrestlers have to eat a lot. Hot pot is most important for sumo wrestlers because it is full of delicious food. Beside, the sumo wrestlers eat many other kind of food, such as fish, egg, seafood, and so on. Once the game begins, the time is not limited. When there is a winner, the game is over.

Cooking Curry

Do you like curry with rice? Now I am going to introduce how to cooking curry.
First, we get potatoes, carrots, onions, butter, salt and meat, water, and spice. Sometimes you can buy block of curry to instead of spice. Cooking curry needs many things. You can even put some fruits, like pine-apple, or banana. The curry spice comes from India. India spice is very famous in the world. Sometimes you can see them in the supermarket or the grocery shop. There are not many markets in India. People usually buy their food in small shop. Then they go home and start to cook.
Curry is healthy, because it helps to digest food. First, prepare water, butter, meat and spice. Put the butter in the pot. Fry the vegetable and the meat. Add water. Then put in the block of curry and let it cook for some time. It is ready.

Minnesota

I went to Minnesota for business trip two years ago. The whether in Minnesota is very cold in December. I saw Ice and snow everywhere, and you can even walk on the river because the river was frozen. During the meeting with vendor, we found that in side the house is worm like summer, so much energy is being wasted. The visa of USA is difficult to get. You need to fill in application form first. Then you have to go to interview. It will take long process for a visa. I feel my English not good enough, so I shall study hard in English skill. I hope that one day I can talk English more fluency.

Nitht Market

Night market is very special part of life in Taiwan. There are many vendors on the small street, are many consumers in a narrow space. You can eat a lot of different local-style snacking foods and play some games for children and adults. Shilin Night Market is most famous night market in the Taipei. Also it is a place for tourists from oversea to explore traditional snack. Oysters omelet is most will known in every night market. It taste a slightly gooey and sweet. Next, Stinky Doufu, some people like it but some people never try it because it smell bad but taste might good.
I used to go night market in my childhood. I went to here with by brother and sisters.
But now I don’t go night mark because I try to go to bed early for healthy life.

Mamma Mia

It is best movie in this year. A girl named Sophie, who has a dream that she wants her father to give her away while her wedding. But the problem is that she never saw her father in her life. She invites three possible men to her wedding, and one of them is her father. Her Mother, Donna is very shocked to see her daughter’s fathers appeared in her house, and she doesn’t know who is Sophie’s father also. What will be happen is the wedding? It is all about your dream and hope in the movie. Mamma Mia is really a good show that you can watch a again and again, and you never feel tired. It is a feeling when you see the show and you feel that you want to be there. The music of ABBA songs let you never forget. Go to get a ticket to see the movie.

A Person Who Has Made a Difference: My Wife

I had some bad habits before I married. The smoking was my worst habit in
my life. I started smoking when I was a junior high school student. Later,
I met my wife. At that time, she always asked me to quit smoking again
and again. Since I had been smoking for nine years, it was difficult for
me to quit smoking. By her requested, I tried very hard in order to quit
it but no use. Meanwhile, she started to lose her patient and started angry
at me when she smelled smoke on me. Finally, I was scared to face her
angry face, so I quitted smoking and I got my health back. After we got
marry. My mother in-low usually give us many foods especially,
Narrow-barred Spanish mackerel (土魠魚). The 土魠魚 is kind
of fish and very delicious. I never try it before. The土魠魚 is middle
size fish which can be cut into slices and salt on it. Then keeps it into
refrigerator. After that, if you want to have it, you can cook it in some
oil with small fire. That is best way to cook it. In Middle Autumn Festival,
my mother in-low goes to buy white pomelo every year. The white
pomelo is a kind of fruit, sweat and full of water. Also, it is very big.
I never try it before. Maybe, It is too expensive, so my mother never
buy it. Now, I can taste white pomelo every year. I think I am luck
man that I can tease many foods or fruits. I would like to say thank you
to my wife and my mother in-low.

Lunghwa University of Science and Technology

Lunghwa University is located gently rolling hill of Taoyuan. I had never been into its campus until I became a student of Lunghwa. My first sight of the campus seems not as large as others university. Also I can’t smell and feel what it is to be like in my expected. Am I disappointed about this? No, of cause I am not a best student too. I told my self what is important thing for you into Lunghwa that is what have you learned when you graduate in Lunghw.

Now I am a weekend student of Lunghwa therefore my teachers have to work on weekend also. I am appreciated for all of my teachers offering their family time to school which some else doesn’t want. Our class teacher Mr.Liu is very gentle and kind for his students. Mr.Liu not only teach us English and also tell us what is a good attitude while you studying in the class or working in your office. For example, he said that you must greet with your teacher before your presentation in the class. He also tells us to prepare a bottle of water for someone who teaches English writing in our class. Because of respect to who has been teaching longest time in Lunghwa is important.

I am dreaming some day my English skill better then I was. Besides, now I have many classmates in my class. Making friends or finding study partners in this period of time can help me to know more things because there are expert in different careers. Especially, some of them are English teacher. I hope that everyone can help each other, one for all, all for one.

Plum Concentrate

Plum Concentrate, I first saw it in SOGO department when I went to window shopping in my lunch time. It is a small bottle and comes from Japan. Once I stood a little while in front of the product looking at it. Unbelievable that small bottle only 280g costs four thousands NTD. I can’t wait the seller open her mouth my feet keeping moving away form her. I think I definitely wouldn’t buy it.

When I know the Plum Concentrate so expensive, I always avoid too closer to the plum seller in SOGO. Sometime the seller smiled at me when I passed through the seller. She always greets with me when she see me. One day she gave me a book written by 梅博士松本. I got it free charge and she told me that plum is good for your body and help you to keep away from the illness.

I read the book at home and I found out that using Plum Concentrate provides many benefits for our body such as balancing body’s PH, helping for digest food, nature antibiotics, balancing blood pressure etc. Most important is that it can prevent cancer which research comes from Tokyo University. I know that is not as cheap however, I think over the health so finally, I buy one bottle for my family.

Introducing Myself (My Job)

China Technical Consultants Incorporated (CTCI) is a global engineering service provider and there are over 7000 employees working in worldwide. I am working in CTCI’s Instrument & Control Department in head office in Taipei. It has been five years passed since I came to CTCI and also I have learned many skills especially in project management.

As an instrument engineer must be very busy in a project because most of plant needs over thousand different kinds of instruments installed in the field. From time to time the process condition may change frequently influenced design schedule. Instrument design group can be divided into four teams, instrument team, control team, detail design team and packaged drawing-review team. The number of required member for each team is depended on the how many instruments required.

Now I am involving to build a chemical plant in Dai-Lin of Kaosiung for China Petroleum Company and I am as a unit leader. In my unit, the detail design work was subcontracted to affiliated company in Vietnam, others team members are task force in our head office included two Vietnamese engineer. As a leader the coordination ability is most important.

I usually call small meeting when any problem come out especially the problem between two engineers or two teams. Each member has own experience and idea for doing particular things, but sometime disagreement with other people. In the meantime, leader must stand out and call each of them to discuss the problem and find the good solution. I try my best to do my work as a good coordinator. Finally, I hope the plant can be hand over in January 2011 smoothly at all.
