Coffee is one of the most popular and important
drinks in Taiwan. If you look around the city
where you live, you can find that a variety of
coffees are sold at any time in major convenience
stores. For example, 7-Eleven, OK, and Family
Life are offering coffees. What’s more, coffees
are offered at lower prices in convenience stores
than in traditional coffee shops. Why do people
need coffee in their daily life? People are always
taking great responsibility for work and family
burdens, so they need caffeine to get more energy
and stay awake. Also, drinking coffee is a good way
to release pressure. For instance, most of western
companies allow employees to take coffee break in
the afternoon at 3:00pm. However, for young
generation, coffee means fashion. An increasing
number of young people like to have a gathering
with friends from time to time in a coffee shop or
use their laptops in one with Internet access.
